Dion Guldbjerg and Sune Nielsen have agreed to merge Montdor and WaveCrest to implement Montdor's experience-based expertise across the European offices. Dion Guldbjerg, CEO of Montdor, joins WaveCrest as key member of WaveCrest's management team and co-owner.
WaveCrest cements its ambition for growth and international expansion by merging with a Danish creative agency Montdor, owned by Danish long line creative professional Dion Guldbjerg.
Montdor uses the experiential process as the primary strategic approach to create brand credibility and build long-term brand loyalty. Today, WaveCrest is one of the Nordic region's largest agencies specializing in retail marketing and with the acquisition of Montdor, the creative competencies are strengthened.
"This is an important step for us as Dion brings his expertise and passion for experiential design and activation to the WaveCrest group. Today, we are a leader in retail marketing, where we help international brands improve their sales and communication to end customers through retail, but have for a long time been looking for a capacity that knows how to build customer experiences, and we have achieved this through Montdor", says WaveCrest's CEO Sune Nielsen.
Montdor is also pleased with the integration with WaveCrest. "Today's consumers expect more than just products and services. They want personal interactions, brands that stand for something and live their values. Since Covid, there has been a major tactical focus from brands on price, product availability and promotions. We see a shift now. A shift to building the brand again. Not only through one-way communication, but in an interaction where the end customer and the brand interact. Throughout my career, I have created unique customer experiences through an experiential design philosophy and love to add a little crazyness that makes the brand stand out. I now have the opportunity to scale internationally by joining the WaveCrest group," says Dion Guldbjerg.
"The Montdor acquisition represents the latest development in WaveCrest's internationalisation strategy. Through further mergers and acquisitions in Europe, we aim to grow and position ourselves among Europe's leading agencies within the next four years. We believe that scale and unique competencies in retail marketing will be crucial in the future, and our strategy is to be able to serve our customers both locally and internationally," says Sune Nielsen.
Following the acquisition of Montdor, WaveCrest serves a total of almost 120 customers across Europe and expects revenue of around 27 million EUR in 2024.
